Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different This role offers a balanced mix of in-office support and field-based patient care with a predictable schedule and manageable on-call rotation. It is well-suited for both new graduates and experienced RTs who enjoy hands-on patient education and teamwork. Key highlights Work Arrangement: On-site; 50% office, 50% road. Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Driving Distance: Up to 60 miles from the branch. Reimbursements: Mileage $0.70. Salary range $21 – $30 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location. On-Call transparency Rotates every 8th week.

Requirements

Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IN RT license.
Minimum 2 years of experience as an RT or RN in respiratory care.
Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
Valid driver's license
Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
Hold a current CPR Certification
Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice

Responsibilities

Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
Performs other duties as required
