Requirements

  • Associate’s degree
  • (BLS) Basic Life Support required one month from hire/transfer date (ACLS) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support six months from hire/transfer date; (PALS) Pediatric Advanced Life Support six months from hire/transfer date, NRP

Responsibilities

  • Delivers routine therapy as delegated by a therapist.
  • Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
  • Monitors, records, and communication patient condition.
  • Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
  • Monitors, receives stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
  • Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
  • Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and perform preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
