About The Position

The Resource Production Scheduler develops and manages daily production schedules across facilities and shifts to ensure efficient operations and on-time delivery. Collaborates closely with supply chain and master scheduling teams to align material availability with production needs, proactively addressing capacity constraints and implementing process adjustments as required. Monitors and analyzes production performance to drive efficiency and timeliness, while coordinating with maintenance to plan preventative downtime. This role is committed to meeting customer expectations and continuously improving systems and processes to maintain a sustainable competitive advantage and long-term profitability.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required;
  • At least (1) one year of experience in food or meat processing production or knowledge of scheduling process preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of ERP software, Epicor a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and attention-to-detail skills highly desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills a must.
  • Must be at an intermediate or advanced level in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs.
  • This position primarily operates in an office environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer.
  • The role involves regular communication with employees and leaders in person, over the phone, and through written correspondence.
  • While the intent of this role is to operate during standard business hours, there may be times when it is required to work extended hours, evenings, holidays, and/or weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, revise and distribute daily resource schedules for facilities/shifts.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to drive executional excellence.
  • Communicate with master scheduler/supply chain department to ensure that materials, components, etc. are supplied efficiently.
  • Identify inefficiencies and escalate risks to the Master Scheduler with proposed solutions.
  • Monitor capacity, determine required solutions, and implement necessary modifications in affected departments and teams, notifying master scheduler/supply chain department promptly.
  • Monitor labor, equipment, and production capacity and make immediate adjustments as conditions change.
  • Work with Maintenance department to schedule downtime for preventative maintenance.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Maintenance, and Procurement to ensure alignment and eliminate disruptions.
  • React in real time to call-offs, downtime, material shortages, and shifting priorities.
  • Ensure all resources are deployed efficiently to maximize uptime and throughput.
  • Collect and analyze data regarding efficiency and timeliness of production by tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) including:
  • Resource utilization
  • Schedule adherence
  • Downtime and disruptions
