About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (MIPS) and working closely with the Associate Dean Education, the focus of this role will be to lead the technical team (education) and manage resources and safety across the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of teaching laboratories and practical classes that underpin world-class pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences education.
As the successful candidate, you will:
Lead and develop a motivated technical team, ensuring operational excellence and a strong culture of safety.
Oversee the management of lab spaces, equipment, consumables, and safety processes for practical classes.
Provide expert advice on compliance with OH&S legislation and safe operating procedures.
Partner with academic teams to support the design and scheduling of student labs and optimise resource utilisation.
Act as Safety Officer for Faculty Education, managing risk and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience managing technical services in an educational or scientific environment.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Expertise in operational management and safety compliance.
• Ability to provide authoritative technical advice on laboratory design, infrastructure, and safety practices.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
