About The Position

As a Resort Groundskeeping Supervisor, you'll be responsible for supervising the upkeep of resort grounds, facilities, streets, equipment, and utility systems at an individual property. You'll supervise and oversee a team of Resort Groundskeepers, and ensure residents and guests receive quality customer service. This is a seasonal position from May - October and may require flexible scheduling availability.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years groundskeeping experience, preferably in the resort industry
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Knowledge of general grounds maintenance techniques
  • Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
  • Proficient in operating various hand tools, power equipment and commercial machinery
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency including the ability to use email and internet

Responsibilities

  • Follow-up on work assignments to ensure efficient, thorough completion of assigned work orders.
  • Oversee and assist groundskeeping team with upkeep of all aspects of grounds such as lawns, pools, streets, curbs, and gardening/landscaping; ensure trash and debris is picked up from common areas and streets on a daily basis, and common area trash containers are emptied as needed.
  • Ensure lawns are manicured appropriately; regularly treat weeds for weed control, weed whip, rake leaves, plant flowers and shrubs, spread mulch/woodchips/stones, trim shrubs and hedges, cut and remove tree limbs damaged by adverse weather conditions, and perform other lawn care services as necessary.
  • Inspect irrigation system regularly to ensure it’s working properly; repair as needed.
  • Coordinate team member selection, training, scheduling and development of direct reports and ensure all team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures.
  • Prioritize and resolve resort service requests, including maintaining records of types and frequency of service requests received.
  • Ensure staff is performing duties in a safe manner, adhering to all safety procedures and properly using safety equipment.
  • Perform water testing and other maintenance duties related to a well-water system or on-site water meters, if applicable. Ensure water samples are taken on a regular basis.
  • Maintain vehicle/equipment maintenance logs and ensure proper maintenance of resort vehicles.
  • Ensure safe storage of hazardous chemicals and/or equipment.
  • Prepare all maintenance-related logs in accordance with the Operations Manual.
  • Issue resident rule reminders and violation notices and follow-up as needed.
