General Description of Duties: The primary duty of this position is to provide quality maintenance of all lawns and grounds of residences and facilities as assigned. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Provide supervision and daily assignments for all assigned Groundskeeping/Maintenance staff and associates ensuring the levels of service required by the contract are met. Responsible for ensuring assigned staff and associates are trained and following operational procedures and completing and submitting all associated administrative paperwork and reports in a timely manner. Know and understands all aspects and requirements of the groundskeeping portion of the assigned contract. And keep inventory of supplies and equipment and recommend quantities for repair, maintenance and replacement. Assists in training associate employees how to complete all aspects of groundskeeping duties tracks and records daily progression as required. Also prepares and submits staff and associate employee timesheets in a timely manner. Ensures all staff have a working knowledge of and compliance with any State, Federal and Agency regulations, policies, procedures, requirements, guidelines, safety guidelines, and hazardous material handling Consistently exhibits: (1) the leadership skills necessary to promote teamwork, professionalism and Adelante’s mission and vision; (2) interpersonal skills necessary to promote trust and cooperation among the staff, contracting personnel and customers. Responsible for the quality maintenance of all lawns and grounds, as assigned, by using various hand tools and gas-powered tools to mow and maintain grass, rake leaves, trim bushes and trees, plant flowers and shrubbery, remove dead plants, irrigate and fertilize vegetation and get grounds ready for seasonal changes. Spread fertilizer, plant food, mulch, and other materials around plants. Remove weeds and dead plants; prune overgrown limbs and leaves. Operate push or riding lawnmowers; may operate heavier tractor equipment if needed. And perform regular maintenance and minor repairs on the lawn care equipment and tools, such as loppers, saws and shovels efficiently. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
(1) year groundskeeping or related experience.
(2) years general work experience.
Proficient in using manual and power tools safely.
Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with internal and external customers of Adelante.
Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, supervisors and co-workers
Skill in the operation of all landscaping/grounds keeping equipment.
Must pass pre-employment drug, and TB screening, Agency, Federal and State Department of Health background investigations. Additional background investigations may be required depending on the job assignment, or job transfer.
Must be able to stand, walk, operate equipment (hand tools, such as loppers, saws and shovels, etc.) and push, and pull continuously.
Must be able to bend/stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, lift 50 lbs., and carry 40 lbs. frequently.
Must be able to climb ladders (4-6ft.), balance, and reach above shoulder(s), occasionally.
