About The Position

The Resin Material Assistant Group Leader is a frontline leadership role responsible for coordinating material flow, supporting production, and leading material handling operations on the manufacturing floor. This position plays a key role in maintaining safety, material accuracy, and operational efficiency while serving as a technical and procedural resource for the team. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, enjoys mentoring and guiding others, and can balance leadership responsibilities with technical and operational work. The Assistant Group Leader partners closely with production, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure materials are managed correctly, processes are followed, and performance goals are achieved.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, material handling, or a technical environment
  • Demonstrated leadership or team coordination experience
  • Fork truck experience and certification preferred
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and spreadsheet use
  • Strong communication skills and ability to lead and support a team
  • Good reading comprehension and basic math skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations
  • Reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and team-focused mindset
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, operate material-handling equipment, and climb ladders

Nice To Haves

  • Fork truck experience and certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead by example while enforcing safety, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Support, guide, and coordinate material handlers throughout the shift
  • Ensure materials are staged, labeled, covered, scanned, and stored properly
  • Assist production with material usage, process recipes, and traceability
  • Monitor grinding and regrind volumes to ensure operational goals are met
  • Complete and review daily material tracking and traceability documentation
  • Manage material transactions within inventory and tracking systems
  • Support unloading, pumping, and handling of bulk material deliveries
  • Assist with testing, introduction, and evaluation of new materials
  • Troubleshoot material system issues and support maintenance teams
  • Communicate effectively with other leads and production team members
  • Delegate daily work assignments and assist with employee training
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of senior leadership
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other assigned tasks
