Residential Technician Supervisor

About The Position

The Residential Technician Supervisor, under the supervision of the Residential Program Manager, is responsible for the management and supervision of the Residential Technician team who oversee the daily residential activities and safety of The Haven residents. The Haven endorses a trauma-informed care approach and a medical model of SUD treatment.

Requirements

Must have a High School diploma or GED.
Must qualify as a BHT per The Haven’s policy.
Must have at least two years of Behavioral Health experience
Must have at least 3-5 years of significant experience in supervising, managing, and overseeing 15+ staff members, with proven leadership skills.
Must have an Arizona Non-IVP Level-1 Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire
Must have current CPR and First Aide Certification or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire
Must have current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention or be able to obtain within 30 days of hire
Must have a valid Driver License with a clean driving record.
Must have experience working with individuals struggling with addictions.
Must be familiar with and be supportive of Substance Use Treatment modalities including but not limited to 12-Step, Smart Recovery, Medically Assisted Treatment (MAT), etc.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose and proofread written materials.
Must have expertise in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher)
Must have experience working with an Electronic Medical Record platform.

Nice To Haves

A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervises Residential Technician’s day-to-day duties.
Ensures the daily residential billing notes are completed in a timely manner.
Performs audits on Residential Technician’s progress notes, documentation of rounds, and billing notes.
Maintains the Residential Technician work schedules and ensures copies of these schedules are stored for a 12-month period.
Conducts and documents Residential Technician meetings and trainings.
Ensures staff completes Incident Reports.
Assists The Haven’s Registered Nurse with the Observation of the Self-Administration of Medications between Residential Technicians and members including documenting errors and training Residential Technicians in the correct medication procedures.
Monitors the assignment of member Urinalysis (UA) duties to Residential Technicians. Schedules UA training for residential staff for correct chain of custody processes and monitors Residential Technician’s successful adherence of the UA protocol. Monitors and completes the ordering of UA supplies, and other substance use testing supplies.
Coordinates and implements the rules and regulations of daily residential living to conform to guidelines set by member funding requirements, licensing, fire and safety regulatory agencies and Haven policy and procedures. Ensures rules and restrictions conform to known standards and best practices of substance use treatment.
Assigns appropriate components of the Haven Kitchen functions to Residential Technicians when the Dietary Manager is unavailable and maintains oversight of the assignment of these duties.
Manages Timecards and PTO balances for each Residential Technician.
Oversees visitation process and ensures adequate staff coverage during visitation times.
Purchases and tracks supply orders for the Residential treatment program.
Assists in training Residential Technicians in the use of The Haven’s Electronic Medical Record system.
Coordinates closely with the Residential Program Manager for the benefit of staff and members, and the smooth flow of information throughout the agency.
Conducts Residential Technician hiring interviews and termination procedures in conjunction with the Human Resources Director.
Coordinates with Human Resources Director for all new Residential Technicians and ongoing training mandates.
Drafts and delivers performance appraisals to all Residential Technicians.
Assists the Program Manager with supervision of Residential Technicians and with documentation. of supervision in the electronic payroll system and in the appropriate folder on the server.
Attends and participates in daily team time meetings with the residential clinical team.
Provide direct member care when appropriate, including assisting with de-escalation, transportation, group facilitation, etc.
Acts as liaison to community agencies.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Residential Program Manager and Director of Clinical Services.
