About The Position

Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed): Arrive at the office no later than 7:30 to get job packet for the day, meet with helper, and load all materials into the truck. Go over job pictures, duct diagram and job instructions to be clear on what will be done that day. Safely travel to the job in the time promised. Complete the job safely in a timely manner making sure all codes are met. Any questions or problems should be communicated to the Install supervisor. Be sure the customer's questions are answered and explain how the system operates. Complete a full start-up of the system and document all necessary information in SAS. Complete all paperwork to include finance paperwork, serial numbers, and entering time and description in SAS Maintain and manage a clean truck and job site. Maintain and account for all truck stock items. Return unused job material to the warehouse so they can be removed from the job. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times Ability to work every third weekend and work overtime on occasion Maintain regular attendance; be on time and in uniform (shirt tucked in, clean, black/brown boots, Estes hat, Estes jacket, Estes sweatshirt. Have proper tools to effectively do your job Help with the development of helpers Recover all refrigerant from the old system Leak test every system to at least 300 psi of nitrogen and leak search all joints with soap bubbles Pull a vacuum on every system to 500 microns Take pictures of the install and upload to SAS. Collect payment for job. Keep Recalls and go-backs to a minimum to achieve 70% Lead (recalls under 14.99%) or 75% Lead (recalls under 7.49%) Return all equipment and line sets with job numbers on them to be recycled. Adhere to and promote the company values and mission Adhere to all company and departmental policies and procedures. Attend all meetings and be involved with training. Report any and all accidents to the Install Supervisor

Requirements

  • Applicants must have at least a High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Must be insurable to drive a company vehicle.
  • Must be 21 years old and have a valid GA drivers license with a clean record to drive a company vehicle and may need to be DOT certified
  • Must have EPA Level II certification
  • NATE certification in Heat Pump is preferred
  • Must have at least 1 year experience being a Lead installer somewhere else or have met all the requirements of a Residential Install Helper and approved by the Install Supervisor.
  • Must be able to install and check out Heat pumps, Air conditioners, Gas furnaces, Air Handlers, Humidifiers, Dehumidifiers, Zone systems, Infinity controls, water source heat pumps, and package units
  • Must be able to understand, set up and install thermostats.
  • Must be able to lay out a duct system in accordance with the salesman’s instructions and drawings
  • Must have knowledge of low and high voltage wiring as it pertains to HVAC.
  • Must have knowledge of plumbing as it pertains to HVAC.
  • Must understand static pressure and be able to use readings to know what needs to be done.
  • Must be able to properly charge a unit with refrigerant and understand Superheat and Subcooling.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to learn new skills.
  • Must be able to work in extreme weather and climate conditions (hot attics, year-round outdoor conditions, etc.);
  • Must be able to stand, crawl, bend, squat, stoop, kneel, reaching or climb repeatedly (up to 25 times an hour), or for long periods of time (four up to two hours);
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
  • Must be able to lift or carry up to 40 pounds unassisted, and lift above shoulder level;
  • Must be able to work in tight, poorly lit and cramped conditions;
  • Must be able to climb ladders and occasionally work at height;
  • Must be able to execute all of the above functions and meet all of the above demands safely, posing no threat to themselves or those around them while doing so, and must willingly comply with applicable safety regulations in the completion of all work.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders and sometimes work at heights
  • Must be able to constantly work with your hands.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and stay safe.

Nice To Haves

  • NATE certification in Heat Pump is preferred
