About The Position

The Residential Services Director is responsible for the residential program, which includes supervision of all personnel within that program. The Residential Services Director oversees all aspects of the residential program including but not limited to licensure, adherence to DBHDD, HFR, and HUD guidelines, promoting person-centered planning, and assisting with any staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Maintains a valid Georgia Driver’s License
  • Maintains proof of insurance on personal vehicle
  • Is a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Adequately documents activities timely and according to Medicaid Standards
  • Complies with dress code standards
  • MVR
  • All training required by DBHDD will be met in accordance with the standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clear understanding and personal relationship with people we support.
  • Counsels residents, assists Case Managers, Finance, and Nursing Department as needed concerning the problems and needs of people we support.
  • Assists with planning and organizing quality assurance programs and develop methodologies.
  • Helps facilitate person-centered planning when offering living options to people.
  • Recommends hiring or dismissal of employees within the Residential Program to the Chief Administrative Officer, while observing Personnel Policies and Practices.
  • Processes residential staff applicants by conducting an initial screening, collects items for application, tracks communication with all applicants, and conducts initial interview before referring to Residential Manager for on-site interview.
  • Works in conjunction with HR to conduct orientation for new residential staff.
  • Performs and participates in staff evaluations at required intervals as specified in the Personnel Policies and Practices.
  • Makes certain there are adequate staffing patterns and that work schedules are efficient and effective. Also tracks overtime and assists with overtime reduction.
  • Provides direct supervision, training, and support to all residential managers.
  • Promotes person-centered planning throughout the organization.
  • Leads the monthly Residential Manager meeting, to include Host Homes, and ensures that relevant information, training, and updates are discussed.
  • Enters and approves training schedules and attendance of residential staff in timekeeping software.
  • Logs COVID staff forms and ensures all are completed by scheduled staff.
  • Ensures timely completion and approval of all timesheets by the residential managers.
  • Processes time-clock adjustment and overtime forms for residential managers.
  • Processes leave requests for residential managers.
  • Maintains records of leave requests for residential managers and staff.
  • Works in conjunction with HR to disburse safety violations to the appropriate manager and ensures follow-up is returned to HR for personnel file.
  • Oversees periodic reviews of the residences by other personnel and contractors to ensure issues are resolved and the properties adhere to regulatory guidelines. Examples: fire inspections, environmental reviews, property inspections, etc.
  • Notifies Chief Administrative Officer about building problems.
  • Schedules landscaping work at the homes as needed through the Chief Administrative Officer.
  • Creates, updates and posts a Medical Emergency Plan in each home that includes contact persons.
  • Coordinates services with state and local officials.
  • Performs quarterly monitoring of residences.
  • Maintains records of drills for all residences and ensures completion.
  • Assist Chief Administrative Officer in the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget and budget revisions for the residential programs.
  • Oversees daily fiscal matters in residential services to ensure that funds are disbursed in accordance with established polices and procedures.
  • Assist the Chief Administrative Officer in the development of sound organizational policies for the residential program, providing such information such as may be required and bringing policy decision, clarification, or revision.
  • Maintains management control and records and as maybe required or necessary.
  • Assures standards and requirements for accreditation is maintained.
  • Creates and submits rent roll each week to the Medicaid biller.
  • Processes Host Home Vouchers for payment and submits to Bookkeeper, based on rent roll.
  • Processes mileage reimbursement requests for payment and submits to Bookkeeper.
  • Addresses civic groups, churches, clubs, and organizations regarding the homes and their function.
  • Coordinates with other human services agencies and utilizes generic services in the community to meet residents’ needs.
  • Contributes information to be printed in the newsletter regarding the residential program.
  • Coordinates services with state and local officials.
  • Leads the Residential Advisory Committee and follows up on any recommendations from the committee.
  • Works well without supervision.
  • Answers phone and emails in a timely manner.
  • Maintains good – to – high attendance record unless on approved leave.
  • Reports to work on time, observes policies regarding leave, hours worked, punctuality and lunch hour limits.
  • Works overtime, if needed, according to personnel policies.
  • Attends staff training.
  • Maintains a helping relationship with other staff and Board of Directors and represents The Arc Macon in a positive way to the general public.
  • Assumes responsibility for equipment and other property assigned to the employee or office and cooperates with other staff and volunteers in protecting and safeguarding properties of The Arc Macon.
  • Maintains flexibility to change routines, if needed.
  • Possesses the mental and physical ability and stamina to perform the job well.
  • Follows all other requirements of current Personnel Policies and Provider Manuals.
  • Performs other reasonable related duties as assigned by supervisor.
