About The Position

The Program Director is a leadership position responsible for overseeing the daily operations and overall management of the Re-Entry and Transition Support Services (RESTS) program. This role involves strategic planning, staff supervision, and program coordination to create a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for youth preparing for re-entry and transition. The Program Director fosters a positive organizational culture, promotes ethical standards, and ensures compliance with organizational and funding requirements. They serve as a role model and resource for staff, facilitate effective communication among stakeholders, and lead efforts to achieve the program’s goals in alignment with the organization’s mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, or Human Services with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a supervisory role working in a juvenile residential setting – Required
  • On-call availability and the ability to respond in person when special incidents occur – Required
  • Valid Driver License to utilize a company provided vehicle – Required
  • Excellent communication skills – Required
  • Demonstrated knowledge in administrative responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day administrative functions of the program, which includes: Timely acknowledgement of referrals and contact with youth and family;
  • Monitoring of staff schedules and tracking of staff trainings;
  • Compliance with all portions of quality assurance expectations;
  • Plan the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and values of the organization
  • Maintains open and transparent communication with staff, JBCSSD Facility Staff and with JBCSSD Compliance Staff
  • Establishes a safe and welcoming environment and a risk reduction culture that promotes behavior change
  • Functions as a role model and resource to staff ensuring staff receive orientation and appropriate training in accordance with organizational and funding source standards
  • Supervise program staff by providing direction, input and feedback, and evaluation
  • Review daily program census and reviews progress with appropriate staff
  • Establishes and performs formal supervision for staff interaction and conduct with youth
  • Attend funding source and client related meetings as applicable
