About The Position

The Campus Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day residential programming by proactively engaging with youth, modeling relationship/strength-based approaches, and responding to student crises. The Campus Coordinator acts in a leadership role to assess and respond to situations in a manner that supports the growth of both students and staff. The Campus Coordinator works with youth both in the milieu and individually to provide supportive and targeted interventions. The Campus Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of direct care staff within the organization. They collaborate closely with department managers to identify training needs and objectives, conducting thorough learning needs assessments. The Campus Coordinator designs and organizes educational materials and resources, ensuring that all training materials are up-to-date and aligned with organizational goals and standards. The Campus Coordinator will observe and provide behavioral training, outreach support, advocacy and treatment to children and their families to facilitate reunification and/or long-term out of home placement. Additional case management duties include ensuring that the individuals served are supported to lead emotionally and physically healthy lifestyles in preparation for long-term placement. This may include, but is not limited to, exercise and nutrition training, community integration, psycho- educational therapeutic counseling, human rights advocacy, medical advocacy, medication administration, social and life-skills training, as well as educational and life planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Psychology, Sociology, Social work, or Education or a closely related field
  • One year of childcare experience in a residential setting with similar population of children
  • Computer literate, including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer, with the ability to learn new software applications
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering training sessions through a variety of modalities including small and large groups, an apprenticeship model, and individual supervision.
  • Monitoring employee progress and assessing training effectiveness.
  • Conducting training evaluations
  • Adapting training strategies to meet evolving needs.
  • Coordinating logistics for training programs.

  • Work with campus leadership to identify and execute professional development activities.
  • Participate in supporting the development of behavior interventions, collecting data, and facilitating youth progress.
  • Implement strategies contained within behavior intervention plans identified through functional behavior assessments.
  • Provide training, advocacy, needs assessment, and treatment to youths with the goal of reunification and/or the reduction of long-term out of home placement.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of daily living for students, including hygiene, clothing, chores, and other activities.
  • Assist children with the transition from each scheduled activity.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary clinical team to lead to the development and implementation of individualized comprehensive treatment plans that provide for individual counseling, group therapy, nutrition, medical, recreational, and social programming.
  • Maintain a therapeutic and professional relationship with students; provide required supervision of students (i.e., eyesight, earshot).
  • Report any instance/allegation of student abuse to Supervisor.
  • Comply with Mandated Reporter status.
  • Report potential safety hazards immediately.
  • Demonstrate awareness of environment.
  • React promptly and appropriately, to any situation that should arise.
  • Ensure completion of all documentation required for safe and effective student care, operation, and compliance.
  • Implements agency and program policies and procedures.
  • Acts as the shift leader, as assigned.
  • Supports day-to-day programming including but not limited to ADLs, social calls, and checklist completion.
  • Supports staff training through an apprenticeship model.
  • Provides ongoing support throughout a shift by coaching and training staff where needed.
  • Monitors the milieu for physical and psychological safety.
  • Provides direct therapeutic care to the residents and crisis intervention including the use of seclusion and restraints; assumes a leadership role in managing emergency situations through modeling and coaching.
  • Under the direction of the Milieu Director and/or Residential Supervisor, supports the completion of processing work for students out of group.
  • Fills in as directed to cover staff absences.
  • Collaborates with the Program Manager to set up and implement campus-wide events.
  • Communicates supply and maintenance needs to the Program Manager.
  • Ensures all incident reports and other required documentation are completed prior to end of shift.
  • Collates and distributes Evening Log by the end of shift.
  • Ensures any necessary staff de-briefing is completed and documented, as needed, prior to end of shift.
  • Sends out a Residential Daily update prior to the residential shift in the absences of the Program Manager.
  • Implements behavior management system.
  • Collaborates with Milieu Directors and direct care staff to gauge the effectiveness of behavior management strategies, implementing any changes as agreed upon.
  • Supports and implements any necessary group interventions (e.g., dorm slow down).
  • May be asked to plan and implement group activities.
  • May be asked to participate in committee meetings (e.g., treatment team, training, etc.).
  • May be required to provide on-call coverage for the program on a rotating basis.
