Residential Assistant - Upward Bound (Grant)
About The Position
Residential Assistant/Tutor-Mentor for Upward Bound Summer Academy 2026 Assist the Residential Coordinator (RC) with supervision of Upward Bound participants throughout the 5-week Summer Academy: 4 weeks of high school participants living residentially and 1 week of virtual activities. Duties are assigned and may include student check-in/check-out, lights out, wake-up calls, supervision of meals, supervision of in-person classes, supervision of virtual meetings, supervision of free time, duty phone, nightly in-person programming meetings, and serving daily needs of students. Provide tutoring (as needed) and peer advisement to participants. Live in residence halls to be present as needed for supervision of minors and lead a core team of students for mentorship. Facilitate living and learning environment in the residence hall. Create an environment which promotes intellectual, academic, social, and emotional growth. Foster social interactions when present on campus and learning environments online. Maintain regular communication with the Director, Coordinator, RC, and other residential staff regarding the progress of participants. Participate in all in-service training and staff meetings. Report to the RC.
