About The Position

The Resident Director (RD) plays a key leadership and community-building role in our student housing apartment complex. The RD is responsible for fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging residential experience. The RD supports student well-being, enforces community policies, helps coordinate programming, and serves as a first point of contact for conflict resolution and after-hours issues.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
• Reliable, approachable, and committed to creating a positive student living environment.
• Must be able to participate in after-hours on-call rotation (if applicable).

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in student housing, residential life, or campus leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with residents and maintain a visible presence within the community.
• Serve as a resource and support system for residents, providing guidance and referrals as needed.
• Promote and enforce community policies and housing guidelines to ensure a respectful living environment.
• Respond to after-hours situations or emergencies (e.g., noise complaints, wellness checks, lockouts, minor incidents).
• Assist with roommate conflict mediation and general resident concerns.
• Support move-in and move-out processes, including orientations and inspections.
• Help plan and facilitate community events or engagement activities.
• Conduct routine walk-throughs and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Collaborate with property management and student housing staff on community operations.
