Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region—and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove. RBC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Residence Life Coordinator (RLC). Reporting to the Director of Student Life, the RLC is a live-in professional staff member responsible for fostering a residential environment that supports student academic success, personal development, and meaningful community engagement. The RLC is expected to work evenings and weekends and participate in the college’s 24-hour on-call rotation. Guided by the department’s core values—safety and security; learning and education; inclusive and welcoming communities; discovery of self; and engagement and connection—the RLC develops and implements engagement initiatives that advance the department’s mission and vision. The RLC provides leadership within the residential community by advising student leaders and supervising student staff, including Resident Assistants and Desk Assistants. As a member of the area staff, the RLC collaborates to create a comprehensive living and learning environment within assigned residence hall or apartment communities. Additionally, RLCs serve as emergency response personnel, both while on call and during other crisis or emergency situations.
