About The Position

The Reservoir Engineer is responsible for providing critical analysis and forecasting to support the company's midstream operations and growth strategies. This position focuses on evaluating producer well forecasts, studying reservoir performance, and analyzing fluid characteristics, with a particular emphasis on the Permian basin (Delaware and Midland). The insights generated by the Reservoir Engineer directly inform long-term planning, development engineering, business development activities, and process optimization efforts. The Reservoir Engineer must balance the needs of various internal customers with potentially conflicting and overlapping priorities through stakeholder engagement prioritization frameworks.

Requirements

  • 4 year / Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • In lieu of the above education requirements, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Four (4) or more years experience Oil and Gas- Upstream/ Midstream with a focus on reservoir modeling and forecasting (Required)
  • Experience in the Permian basin (Midland, Delaware, or both) required.
  • Familiarity and experience in the use of Eclipse, Petrel, Python, and Enverus.
  • Willing to attend and participate in industry-sponsored conferences, seminars, training, and summits.
  • Overnight travel to company locations and facilities for meetings, training, special projects, emergency planning, or information gathering will be required.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
  • Must be willing to submit to DOT random drug & alcohol screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineering Licensure is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Independently reviews well forecast data from producers for accuracy and credibility based on historical information and knowledge of the formation.
  • Develops and maintains production forecasts for an assigned area using standard decline curve analysis.
  • Analyzes market trends and well permit information to contribute to Long Term Planning forecasts.
  • Develops forecast scenarios for use in development engineering and business development activities.
  • Support reservoir field development planning and SWD well placement.
  • Assesses fluid characteristics and trends (e.g., gas compositions including H2S, N2, CO2 content, GOR, water cut) and communicates findings. Assists process engineering in the optimization of systems by providing fluid property analysis.
  • Assists in design and ensure delivery of effective reservoir engineering practices to support all exploration, development, and production activities.
  • Support building and updating of reliable reservoir & network models, underpinning investment decisions, and business plans.
  • Support in ensuring effective management of development and depletion plans for producing fields to maximize value and meet business plan targets.
  • Assists in estimating remaining reservoir capacity at various SWD wells in compliance with industry standards.
  • Prepare reports documenting completion operations and performance.
  • Provide engineering support related to reporting requirements.
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Function as a resource for colleagues with less experience and support in solving complex problems.
  • Implement best practices and technology improvements.
  • Develop reservoir modeling company standards.
  • Lead projects or project steps within broader initiatives.
  • Integrate geological, petrophysical, and reservoir data.
  • Contribute to operational decisions and project recommendations.
  • Develop technical independence and reliable analytical judgment.
