The Department of OB-GYN offers an opportunity for a Research Technician to support the development and implementation of 3D microfluidic devices for modeling of disease (e.g., ovarian cancer, preeclampsia). In addition, this individual will help generate systems for laboratory operation, assist the laboratory in preparing laboratory reagents, record keeping, ordering supplies and prepare manuscripts for publication. The candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary environment with researchers, clinicians and students at several different levels and from different programs (e.g., pharmacology, biomedical engineering, endocrine and reproductive physiology). Our work takes place at the interface of engineering, biology and materials science. Therefore, a competitive candidate must be interested in learning current protocols and know-how from the laboratory, as well as taking ownership of their own project. We are seeking a highly creative individual, capable of methodical and independent work, who can also thrive in occasional work in teams and is interested in testing and optimizing new working protocols to be adopted by the rest of our team
