About The Position

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Research Technician to conduct experiments in a translational team environment on projects that test the effects of alcohol in rodents focused on the gut and brain connection. Rodent research includes in vivo neural manipulations (optogenetics, DREADDs, electrophysiology, MRI ), reward-learning tasks, binge-like ethanol exposure, immunohistochemistry/immunofluorescence, complex behavioral and statistical analysis, stereotaxic surgery and ethanol self-administration in mice. Experiments use transgenic mice that will be bred in house.

  • Strong laboratory skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in basic laboratory skills (pipetting, following a protocol)
  • Expertise in literature on gut-brain communication
