The Bardeesy lab seeks a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in pursuing a future academic career in science or medicine. This is an ideal position for a recent graduate who wants to gain an intense research experience before pursuing graduate or medical school. The candidate will take responsibility in basic science and translational research projects under close supervision of post-doctoral research fellows in the lab, as well as Dr. Nabeel Bardeesy (PI). You will be trained on techniques used in the lab, depending on the project’s need. The current position available in the lab involves cell and molecular biology studies and work in the animal (mouse) facility, investigating therapeutic approaches targeting key cancer genes. The Bardeesy lab is involved in investigating new therapies for gastrointestinal cancers, mainly liver/biliary and pancreatic cancers. Our group is interested in elucidating mechanisms of resistance to targeted cancer therapeutics such as kinase inhibitors.
