About The Position

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a qualified candidate to fill full-time Research Scientist IV positions. The successful candidate will oversee protocols investigating the neurobiology of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, with emphasis on fMRI studies and transcranial magnetic stimulation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, or Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology may substitute for an additional year of experience.
  • Six (6) years of experience in eating disorders research.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in neuroimaging protocol design and implementation
  • experience in transcranial magnetic stimulation protocol design and administration.
  • Familiarity with literature on computational neuroscience.
  • Familiarity with literature on the neurobiology of eating disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee collaborative cognitive neuroscience research.
  • Take lead role with assessment of research subjects for appropriateness for research participation.
  • Oversee research assistants and other staff in recruitment activities, study procedures (including fMRI imaging and laboratory meals), transcranial magnetic stimulation, and data analysis.
  • Prepare results for publication, and interpretation of data for subsequent research proposal/grant preparation
