About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry seeks a highly motivated investigator for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will conduct innovative research using advanced neuroimaging methods to investigate the neurobiology, pathophysiology, or treatment mechanisms of major depressive disorder and related mood disorders. The candidate will join a highly collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities, multidisciplinary research teams, and established clinical research programs. The faculty member will be expected to develop an independent, externally funded research program and contribute to the academic mission of the Department through mentorship, teaching, and scholarly activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and five years of professional research experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of experience, or Ph.D. in an appropriate field may substitute for an additional year of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Established research program focused on the neurobiology or treatment of depression.
  • Prior or current extramural funding.
  • Experience with advanced neuroimaging analysis methods, including multimodal integration, machine learning, or computational modeling.
  • Experience participating in large collaborative or multi-site research studies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain an independent research program focused on neuroimaging of depression or related mood disorders.
  • Design and lead clinical and translational research studies using neuroimaging.
  • Obtain and maintain extramural funding.
  • Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present results at national and international conferences.
  • Collaborate with faculty across psychiatry, neuroscience, radiology, and related disciplines.
  • Mentor graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other trainees.
  • Participate in departmental seminars, committees, and academic service activities.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative neuroimaging methodologies or analytic approaches relevant to psychiatric research.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements for human subjects research.
