About The Position

Notice: Funding available through 12/31/2026; continuance beyond that date is subject to the Department's operational needs as outlined in UBPPM #3200, Employee Classifications, http://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3200.html. The Center for Healthcare Equity in Kidney Disease (CHEK-D) Research Scientist will provide a wide range of research tasks under a NIH funded project in patients with kidney disease. This position will be responsible for complex scientific research activities, including data collection and auditing, steady involvement in routine meetings with the Principal Investigator and preparing summary reports. The Research Scientist will work closely with the Director and research team, including other external collaborators, to contribute to the maintenance, oversight and success of the Center's research projects. The Department of Internal Medicine is a large, progressive department with a diverse staff working in dedicated teams to provide quality work in an organized, effective, and efficient manner through innovation, training, and education. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Strong attention to detail for data collection
  • Ability to develop and follow research protocols
  • Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies
  • Ability to design, organize, and coordinate scientific research projects
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce research procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a health-related field
  • Nursing assistant certificate
  • Proficiency in REDCap, PowerChart and Ottr
  • Experience with kidney transplant patients
