The Hollenhorst Lab at Mass General Brigham applies innovative biochemical strategies to study clinically relevant questions regarding proteins that regulate bleeding and clotting. The goal is to further the understanding of basic biology of hemostasis and thrombosis with a focus on patient care. The lab is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to perform experiments under the supervision of the principal investigator or a senior lab member. Key experimental tasks include western blots, immunoprecipitation, protein purification, and preparing samples for mass spectrometry analysis. The selected candidate will work with a high degree of independence, organize notebooks, manage data, and perform other relevant laboratory experiments related to platelets and coagulation factors. This position is particularly suitable for individuals seeking 1-2 years of research experience before applying to PhD and/or MD programs, offering direct mentorship and potential clinical shadowing opportunities. The Hollenhorst laboratory is located in the Harvard Institutes of Medicine building, within the Longwood Medical Area, and is affiliated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital Division of Hematology and Harvard Medical School, with collaborations across various institutions and access to state-of-the-art core facilities.
