About The Position

The Urology Research Fellow is a one‑year, pre‑GME residency appointment for individuals who have matched into our Urology Residency via the AUA Match and will begin their PGY‑1 year in July of the following year. The Fellow will contribute to the department’s scholarly mission through hypothesis-driven urologic research, scholarly dissemination, and active participation in resident didactics, including assisting with setup and logistics. This role provides structured mentorship, protected research time, and opportunities to present at regional and national urology meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and analyze urology-focused research projects under the direction of an assigned faculty mentor.
  • Prepare research protocols, IRB submissions/amendments, and data-use agreements in collaboration with faculty and research administration, as applicable.
  • Perform literature reviews; develop data collection instruments; collect, manage, and analyze data; assist with statistical interpretation.
  • Draft, revise, and submit abstracts, posters, oral presentations, and manuscripts; respond to peer review and conference queries.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant research documentation and data integrity.
  • Present research at national urology conferences and other professional venues as approved by the mentor and department.
  • Participate in workshops relevant to research methods, quality improvement, statistics, and academic writing.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct.
