Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Summer 2026 Intern for Research and Development (Aerospace Engineering). Must be a U.S. Citizen. The Research and Development Intern will: support novel research approaches, evaluate technical merit of novel research develop experimental design and gather data, produce written research reports, and support the overall technical team. Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Aerospace Engineering studying high speed flows with focused laser differential interferometry.
  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering
  • Proficient in MATLAB, ImageJ, LaTeX
  • Familiar with SolidWorks and ANSYS Fluent for Basic Modeling
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Studies in high speed aerothermodynamics and experience with data acquisition in ground testing
  • Experience with composite materials for applications in Hypersonic technology
  • Experience with aerothermodynamics and various optical diagnostic techniques for flow characterization.
  • Publication record (>2 published works)
  • At least one professional membership (e.g., University Consortium for Applied Hypersonics, American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics)
