About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented R&D Technician to join our Sunwarrior team. This role will utilize their personal experience in product formulation, food safety, good manufacturing, and sanitation practices to provide tactical support to all departments, ensuring Sunwarrior products are formulated with the utmost quality.

Requirements

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret regulatory information.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Thorough understanding of unit conversions, nutritional analysis calculations.
  • Ability to make educated judgments on correctness, accuracy, and appropriateness of information.
  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to switch task direction and focus when prompted.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including excel
  • Ability to taste and work with foods and food ingredients that may contain allergens including caffeine.
  • Associate’s degree in: Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition or a related scientific field or 2–3 years of relevant industry experience in food, supplement, or CPG lab environments in lieu of a degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity or general aptitude for Formulary Databases, CRM, and ERP systems is preferred. Including Genesis

Responsibilities

  • Prepare commercialized product scale up samples to be used as production control retains.
  • Manage multiple requests to prepare product samples for new and continuing projects.
  • Manage raw material inventory for the lab.
  • Pulling of raw materials for lab work.
  • Execute Sensory tests as needed.
  • Execute organoleptic tests off the line when needed.
  • Assist with flavoring projects and finished samples preparations when needed.
  • Fill test, scoop test, and packaging specs for finished goods.
