The Research Associate 1, SOM will work on - Mitochondrial regulation of leukemic/hematopoietic stem cells or in red blood cell maturation research projects under the supervision of the senior staff. S/he will use a variety of model systems and techniques to conduct basic and translational research. The model systems include in vitro (cell culture), and in vivo (mice) models. The techniques include standard and innovative techniques to analyze DNA, RNA, protein, microscopic analyses, flow cytometric analysis, FACS sorting. S/he will help to maintain mouse colony; collect samples; extract DNA, RNA, protein. S/he needs to maintain well-organized, dated, detailed, and up-to-date laboratory notes, both physical and electronic, which serve as a record of the rationale, experimental design, materials and procedures used, any changes to the work as performed, results, data analysis and interpretation, and suggestions for future experiments. S/he will help prepare manuscripts, presentations, etc.
