The Opportunity: UCF is seeking a temporary Research Assistant to join the dedicated team at the UCF College of Nursing at the Dr. Phillips Nursing Pavilion on UCF’s Academic Health Sciences Campus in Lake Nona. This position will provide support for a research study through the College of Nursing. The Research Assistant supports the implementation of the Mothers Moving Forward Project (MMFP) by assisting with participant enrollment, device setup, data collection and monitoring, communication with participants, and operational tasks essential for successful project delivery under the supervision of the principal investigator.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
  • Applicant must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer, as sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Candidates selected for hire will be required to provide two references as part of the hiring process.
  • Pursuant to Florida State Statute 1010.35, prior to offering employment to certain individuals in research-related positions, UCF is required to conduct additional screening. Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience with data collection from human subjects.
  • Experience working with pregnant or postpartum populations or in maternal child health settings.
  • Experience in community-based research.
  • Prior experience preparing educational materials or assisting with health education sessions.
  • Strong organizational skills for tracking data submissions, survey responses, and participant communications across multiple platforms (Qualtrics, RedCap, SPSS, Fitabase, project phone).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Screens for potential participants at the clinic who may be eligible to participate in the study.
  • Recruits and assists with participant onboarding, including helping women complete electronic consent and baseline surveys.
  • Supports participants during health education sessions including set up of devices.
  • Monitors participant survey responses and data submissions via study databases and project platforms.
  • Manages participants’ weekly communication and ongoing remote health monitoring and engagement and follow-up assessments using the dedicated project phone and email.
  • Attends weekly project meetings and communicates with other research team members.
  • Provides general administrative and project support, including materials preparation, printing, and assisting with logistics.
  • Assists with tracking participant incentives and attendance records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
