Requirements

  • Knowledge of various legal and business research tools such as Capital IQ, Lexis-Nexis, Lexis Ai, Courtlink, GlobalData Explorer, and Lex Machina. Knowledge of Bloomberg is a strong plus.
  • 4 + years of experience performing legal and business research in a professional services, consulting, or law firm.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree in library and information science strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal and business intelligence research across a wide range of industries and practice areas using research tools such as Capital IQ Pro, Lexis-Nexis, Courtlink, Lexis Ai, Lex Machina, Factiva, Bloomberg Law, and GlobalData Explorer.
  • Provide both in-depth research and ready reference across all practice areas.
  • Synthesize research findings into clear, concise deliverables.
  • Coordinate and assist in the delivery of training programs for various research tools.
  • Orient newly hired consultants to research services, resources, and best practices.
  • Provide consultative research support, recommending appropriate tools and research strategies based on the needs of the consultant.
  • Stay current on emerging research technologies, analytics tools, and AI-enhanced research solutions.
  • Participate in the evaluation and testing of new research tools and services.
  • Manage multiple research requests and projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with consultants and professional staff across offices and practice areas.
  • Assist in the maintenance of our vendor management software. This includes updating and uploading user lists and usage reports, and ensuring that all the information from our vendor contracts is entered correctly.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research & Information Services and the research services associate to ensure appropriate delegation between advanced research and ready-reference work.
