About The Position

Summary: The Research Assistant (RA) will support administrative and research activities in the Brown Research on Implementation and Dissemination to Guide Evidence Use (BRIDGE) Program, housed within the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. The BRIDGE Program is dedicated to advancing the adoption, spread, and scale-up of evidence-based practices in routine clinical settings. The RA will primarily contribute to implementation science research studies through qualitative and survey data collection and analysis (conducted in-person or virtually) and human-centered design methodologies. Additional responsibilities include screening and recruiting study participants, managing and verifying data, conducting qualitative interviews, participating in literature reviews, supporting the development of research reports and presentations, and collaborating with study personnel, research participants, and external partners to achieve project goals. The RA will also assist with administrative tasks aligned with study protocols and contribute to key BRIDGE initiatives as directed by program leadership. There will be opportunities to contribute to conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications. The RA will spend 50% of their time assisting with a National Institute of Mental Health funded project aimed at helping mental health and implementation organizations with strategic financial planning to balance priorities of being financially sustainable, offering equitable access to care, and implementing evidence-based mental health interventions. The other 50% of their time will be spent assisting with other BRIDGE research projects and BRIDGE program activities. This is a fixed-term position with a current end date of June 30, 2027, subject to extension based on available funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, public health, sociology, anthropology, economics or related field
  • 1-2 years’ research experience
  • Demonstrated interest in working with psychiatric and/or medical populations.
  • Willingness and ability to conduct participant recruitment and data collection virtually and off-site.
  • Proficiency with various computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately, take initiative and maintain organized working conditions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to confidentiality and research integrity.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, including evening and weekends as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to closely follow all study protocols and a strong commitment to accomplishing the goals of the study with the highest degree of quality and integrity.
  • CRIMINAL BACKGROUND AND EDUCATION CHECK REQUIRED.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with human subject research and qualitative methods is desired
  • Familiarity with SPSS, REDCap, Qualtrics, NVivo, R is advantageous
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly desired
  • And/or equivalent combination of education and experience
