About The Position

The Research Assistant provides administrative and technical support for research projects, including coordinating field logistics, ensuring adherence to established protocols, assisting with the training and supervision of seasonal staff, and supporting data management tasks. Opportunities to Contribute Conducts marshbird point counts at remote sites following established protocols and safety procedures and collects standardized vegetation and habitat measurements associated with survey points. Assists with scheduling, daily field planning, training, troubleshooting, and ensuring consistent protocol implementation across field staff. Manages data entry, QA/QC, file organization, and maintains field equipment to support accurate and efficient project operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Marshbird or avian survey experience.
  • Experience with vegetation sampling.
