About The Position

The Murray lab is seeking a motivated, detail oriented full time Research Assistant to join our team at the Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. The successful candidate will contribute to efforts leveraging a developmental systems genetics approach in the dissection of embryonic dynamics as a complex trait. This exciting project incorporates high-diversity mouse populations, genomics (e.g. bulk-RNA-seq, single cell-RNA-seq, single cell-ATAC-seq, and spatial-RNA-seq), and quantitative phenotyping (e.g. microCT 3D morphometry, FACS) to identify and characterize quantitiative trait loci that influence the timing of critical developmental processes. Results will contribute to a systems level understanding of how genomic variation shapes developmental thresholds underpinning normal morphological variation and sensitivity to craniofacial birth defects. A keen attention to detail, innate curiosity, and an enthusiasm for all things biological are key traits. This position is a great opportunity for both experienced associates to expand their skills and for energetic new graduates with a passion for research seeking to obtain applied research experience. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
