Works under general direction to provide responsible and skilled technical assistance in performing assignments requiring experience and good knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of medical and scientific research. The Research Assistant will support the CPRIT-funded Data Science and AI Core for Population Research (DAICOR) by assisting in the development and application of imaging-based AI tools for cancer research. Responsibilities include implementing and testing existing models for medical image analysis (e.g., mammography, CT, ultrasound), supporting image preprocessing and data integration workflows, and maintaining organized, well-documented code and datasets. The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, with experience in Python programming and basic knowledge of machine learning or medical image analysis.
