To achieve this, LWCC has built an in-house Innovation Team that leverages Human-Centered Design (HCD) practices—design research, customer insights, problem framing, ideation, prototyping, and iteration—to transform the end-to-end experience for our stakeholders, including agents, policyholders, injured workers, internal team members, and partners. The Research and Insights Analyst assists with core elements of this work, driving qualitative research efforts, synthesizing insights, and designing tools and processes that guide teams toward meaningful solutions. This role works closely with the Innovation Strategist role to co-lead innovation project scoping, facilitation, research and analysis, and translating research findings into actionable recommendations that inform solution designs and decision-making for further innovation investments. With a strong foundation in HCD, this position ensures stakeholder needs remain central throughout the innovation process while collaborating across departments to embed empathy and research-based thinking into how we work. The research and work completed by this role will inform and assist the Innovation Strategist role through the design, prototyping, and implementation phases of Innovation initiatives.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience with research analysis, human-centered design, and other related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in human-centered design, psychology, business, communications, or related fields.
  • Proven experience and familiarity with the Human-Centered Design approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in design research, including qualitative research methods such as insight development, journey mapping, data synthesis, and co design session design and facilitation.
  • Proven ability to connect research, innovation concepts, and operational realities to drive meaningful business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and storytelling skills: able to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data into clear, actionable insights and communicate them effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Skilled in primary research, with experience planning and leading/facilitating research interviews, workshops, and co-creation sessions in both virtual and in-person format.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and as a thought partner across teams.
  • Exposure to tools such as Qualtrics, Excel, PowerPoint, Miro, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint; comfortable learning and adapting to new platforms and systems.
  • Familiarity with and use of Generative AI tools and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design research activities to uncover stakeholder needs, frame opportunities, identify pain points, and generate actionable insights.
  • Plan and execute research activities including interviews, fieldwork, surveys, data analysis, and synthesis.
  • Develop research protocols and deliverables such as discussion guides, personas, journey maps, and insights reports.
  • Leverage research to help frame problems into opportunities in meaningful ways.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are grounded in research and stakeholder context from early ideation through implementation.
  • Collaborate with various department leaders including IT, implementation teams, and marketing to translate research and insights into feasible and impactful initiatives.
  • Support ideation and co-creation workshops, concept development, and early solution prototyping through facilitation and structured creative activities.
  • Work closely with designers (internal or external) to translate research findings into tangible design outputs.
  • Work alongside Innovation Strategist role to co-lead, collaborate, and co-design research approaches.
  • Work with Innovation Strategist to prototype, test, and implement business solutions based on research and the Human-Centered Design process.
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of the Innovation Team’s tools, processes, and culture by codifying learnings, sharing best practices, and documenting frameworks.
  • Act as an advocate for the value of research, helping teams stay grounded in stakeholder context as solutions move forward.
  • Represent the Innovation Team in meetings, presentations, and internal storytelling efforts that share progress, learnings, and outcomes.
