Repair Technician (Device Repair & Installation)
About The Position
This role is for people who like working with their hands, solving technical problems, and delivering high-quality repairs - not selling . We're hiring Repair Technicians to execute device repairs, key services, and battery installations that support our customer experience. If you're detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and take pride in doing the job right the first time, this could be a great fit. Important Role Clarification This is a repair-focused role . Repair Technicians are responsible for completing repairs and installations accurately and efficiently. Sales Technicians handle customer consultations and closing the sale. This role does not carry sales quotas , but includes performance-based incentives tied to completed repair work and gross profit generated . Technicians who work efficiently, deliver high-quality repairs, and identify additional service needs during repairs can earn at higher incentive tiers. We specialize in battery replacement, key cutting and programming, phone and tablet repair, and lighting solutions for both retail and commercial customers. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 18 years or older
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with small components
- Comfortable using tools, diagnostics, and repair equipment
- Ability to follow written procedures and safety standards
Nice To Haves
- Phone or tablet repair experience
- Electronics, automotive, or mechanical background
- Technical certifications or formal training
- Prior experience in repair, service, or technician roles
Responsibilities
- Perform phone and tablet repairs following established procedures
- Execute key cutting and programming services
- Complete battery testing and installation (automotive, specialty, and consumer)
- Diagnose issues accurately and document work completed
- Follow safety protocols, PPE requirements, and quality standards
- Partner with Sales Technicians to ensure repairs are completed correctly and on time
- Communicate clearly about repair timelines, limitations, and outcomes
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and properly maintained tools
- Follow SOPs for repairs, recycling, and hazardous material handling
- Assist with inventory tracking for repair parts and tools
- Support store operations as needed during peak service periods
