About The Position

NineStar Connect is seeking a highly motivated Installation & Repair Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll install and maintain essential broadband, security, and voice services that keep homes and businesses across Central Indiana connected. This is a Bargaining Unit position with access to continued training and advancement opportunities.

Requirements

• Knowledge of: Broadband, security, voice, wireless, and key systems
• Knowledge of: Fiber and copper networks, electronic practices, and in-home wiring
• Knowledge of: Basic electricity, computer software, and service documentation
• Knowledge of: General office practices and customer service standards
• Skills in: Preparing work orders, tickets, and time sheets
• Skills in: Using service equipment, hand tools, and fall protection gear
• Skills in: Troubleshooting and resolving service issues independently
• Skills in: Managing multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to: Work independently and make sound technical decisions
• Ability to: Collaborate effectively with team members and external vendors
• Ability to: Follow technical instructions and safety protocols
• Ability to: Lift up to 60 lbs and work at various heights
• Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent + 4 years of combined experience and/or education in communications, telephone, or data systems
• Required Certifications: Network+ and BICSI Technician (TECH)

Responsibilities

• Install and repair broadband, security, access control, wireless, key systems (phone systems), and voice services for residential and business customers.
• Use fiber and copper infrastructure to set up and maintain systems, test equipment, and program devices.
• Troubleshoot service issues, wiring problems, faulty equipment, and network disruptions.
• Provide product training to customers on installed services.
• Complete service documentation including work orders, reports, billing, and timesheets.
• Maintain a clean and stocked service vehicle and ensure proper use of company tools and equipment.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for repair and emergency service.
• Operate company vehicles, including a bucket truck, and follow safety protocols for ladders and fall protection.
