The Repair Center Engineer II is responsible for performing maintenance, modification and/or repair of Leica Biosystems mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments. This position reports to the Director of the Service and Repair Center and is part of the Repair Center Team located in Richmond, IL and will be onsite . In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Perform maintenance, modification and/or repair on mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments. Identify root cause of instrument malfunctions and determine feasibility of repair Disassemble, replace or repair defective parts and refrigeration subsystems

Requirements

  • Associates Degree or Technical Certifications with at least 3 years’ experience in performing maintenance, modification and/or repair on mechanical, electro-mechanical, electronic and refrigeration instruments
  • Ability to regularly lift, move, slide, raise and/or place up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk (prolonged), and sit; squat and kneel, ascend and descend stairs; reach with hands and arms

Nice To Haves

  • Specialized Refrigeration Repair Certification (EPA certification Type I 608)
  • Advanced knowledge level of AC/DC circuitry identification and troubleshooting and knowledge level of mechanical assemblies and troubleshooting
