Raytheon is seeking a talented and motivated Systems Engineer to join our team within the Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SETC) Discipline, supporting a range of programs. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of the product, from concept to deployment Every day will bring new challenges, requiring you to collaborate across disciplines to troubleshoot issues, perform data analysis, and implement solutions. Your contributions will directly impact the success of mission-critical defense systems, and you'll have a hands-on role in ensuring the entire system functions seamlessly. The Systems Engineering and Test Center (SETC) organization is currently hiring a Systems Engineer II to join our Tucson, AZ location. SETC is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and test to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer, and so many more to ensure we design, integrate, test and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on an effectors project pertinent to the systems lifecycle. This role is 100% on-site at our Tucson, AZ campus.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 2 years of prior engineering experience.
  • Experience with systems requirements, systems integration, and/or systems test.
  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Defense Industry, and specifically with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures, as well as Department of Defense customer infrastructure experience.
  • Understanding of the Systems Engineering product lifecycle
  • Experience with performing performance analysis and presenting analytical and technical material
  • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, or other digital engineering tools.
  • Experience with model-based engineering and associated tools
  • Experience in developing and managing requirements.
  • Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field, supporting integration and/or verification.
  • Experience with evaluating systems using simulated environments.
  • Experience with generating technical documentation, such as trade studies, test plans, procedures, or technical reports.

Responsibilities

  • Core Systems Engineering: Update, maintain, and improve requirements. Develop system architecture and model using Model Based Systems Engineering. Conduct trade studies based on Concept of Operations. Collaborate with engineers of all disciplines.
  • Perform Test Planning: Develop and implement test plans, procedures, integration, and verification documentation in both simulated and real-world environments and perform/execute the testing
  • Integrate Systems: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, evaluating their functionality and impact. Evaluate test results for requirements compliance. Create/modify documentation in support of design reviews and in preparation for test events. Perform Platform Integration, Flight Test, Qualification, Design Verification Execution
  • Troubleshoot and Analyze: Identify and resolve hardware, software, and system issues through detailed data analysis and debugging.
  • Perform Data Analysis: Conduct statistical and numerical analysis test data to ensure optimal system performance and verify requirements.
  • Support Missions: Travel as needed to support mission execution at various locations including local RTX facilities, test sites, vendor facilities, and customer locations.
