Power Up Your Career with Worldwide Power Products The Rental Account Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing revenue from temporary power rental solutions. This role focuses on consultative rental solutions of generators, load banks, fuel, and electrical distribution equipment to commercial, industrial, construction, oil and gas, and municipal customers. The position requires strong technical understanding, relationship management, and accountability for customer success from opportunity through closeout, while leveraging inside sales and administrative support for quoting, logistics coordination, documentation, and invoicing.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in rental power or related equipment rental industries
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong working knowledge of generators and temporary power applications
  • Experience selling to industrial, commercial, construction, or municipal customers
  • Ability to understand electrical distribution concepts and site power requirements
  • Comfortable operating in time-sensitive, outage-driven environments
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, engineering, construction management, or related field)
  • Relevant industry experience may substitute for formal education
  • Ability to operate effectively in time-sensitive and occasionally demanding environments.
  • Proven relationship-builder with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Hungry, driven, and competitive in a professional, team-oriented way.
  • Comfortable with high outbound activity and initiating conversations.
  • Strong commercial instincts and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Generate rental revenue through new customer acquisition and expansion of existing accounts
  • Identify opportunities for short-term and long-term generator rentals, including emergency power, planned outages, and project support
  • Develop account plans for top customers and key verticals
  • Actively prospect contractors, facility managers, EPC firms, municipalities, and industrial operators
  • Respond to inbound rental inquiries and convert them into booked projects
  • Attends networking events to represent the company while prospecting for new business opportunities.
  • Assess customer power needs including kW size, voltage, fuel type, runtime, and redundancy requirements
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, and service teams to develop safe and reliable power solutions
  • Recommend supporting equipment including transformers, switchgear, cables, load banks, fuel tanks, and monitoring
  • Understand basic electrical one-line diagrams and site logistics
  • Communicate scope clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Serve as the primary customer-facing point of contact throughout the rental lifecycle
  • Partner with inside sales administrators who prepare quotes, coordinate logistics, manage rental agreements, POs, invoicing, and job documentation
  • Provide clear scope, pricing intent, timelines, and customer expectations to the internal support team
  • Manage change orders, extensions, and scope adjustments in collaboration with internal teams
  • Own commercial strategy for assigned accounts and projects
  • Ensure pricing aligns with company guidelines and margin expectations
  • Review job performance and address margin erosion or scope creep
  • Secure customer commitment and signed rental agreements
  • Assist the accounting department with new customer setup, credit applications, and required documentation
  • Support accounts receivable efforts by maintaining customer relationships and assisting with collections when needed
  • Proactively address billing questions or disputes to facilitate timely payment
  • Reinforce payment terms and expectations during the sales and execution process
  • Build long-term customer relationships focused on responsiveness, trust, and reliability
  • Conduct post-job follow-ups and identify repeat rental or long-term service opportunities
  • Coordinate with service and sales teams to position preventative maintenance or permanent power solutions when appropriate
  • Reports all recognized unsafe conditions or acts to management.
