About The Position

Are you a results-driven sales professional who thrives on building relationships and closing deals? We're seeking a motivated Rental Account Manager to own and grow our commercial rental and trailer services presence across a dynamic and high-potential territory stretching from Long Beach to the LA Inner City and LAX area. In this role, you won't just be meeting sales targets — you'll be the face of Ryder in your market, developing profitable new accounts, retaining valued customers, and directly contributing to revenue growth and improved Return on Assets. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or 5+ years of equivalent sales experience (required)
  • 1+ year of sales experience or equivalent sales training (required); 3+ years preferred
  • 1+ year of industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and close new business
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism
  • Commitment to ethical business practices and thorough follow-up

Responsibilities

  • Develop new business through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and in-person customer visits across your territory
  • Assess customer needs and craft competitive rental proposals tailored to their operations
  • Maintain and grow existing accounts through regular customer visits and proactive relationship management
  • Handle customer concerns professionally and ensure service quality is consistently delivered
  • Train and mentor Rental Sales Representatives in telemarketing and customer engagement best practices
  • Manage contract development, customer files, credit approvals, and collections with accuracy and accountability
  • Maintain data integrity across company systems (FIS/DPS) to ensure clean reporting and forecasting
  • Identify lease conversion opportunities, supporting broader sales organization performance
