Scope of Job: We are seeking dedicated and talented individuals for roles ranging from experienced Technician 2 to expert Technician 5 to perform maintenance, repair, and operational activities on utility-scale renewable energy assets, including wind turbines, Photovoltaic (PV) power systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Candidates will be placed at the level commensurate with their experience, qualifications, and successful completion of internal competency standards. Required Training: Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend a mandatory 3-4 week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided. This position is onsite in Altoona, PA.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and structures to heights of over 300 feet (91 meters) and work at those heights and in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) and in an electrical-mechanical environment with high voltage/stored energy.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Due to weight restrictions for fall-arrest equipment, the maximum employee weight must not exceed 285 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and lead site safety assessments.
- Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation.
- Attend all required safety and technical training.
- Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies.
- Technician levels 2-5 participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for system monitoring and fault identification.
