Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and structures to heights of over 300 feet (91 meters) and work at those heights and in confined spaces.
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain) and in an electrical-mechanical environment with high voltage/stored energy.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 35 pounds and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Due to weight restrictions for fall-arrest equipment, the maximum employee weight must not exceed 285 lbs.
  • 1 to 2 years in renewable energy or similar discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of schematics, multi-meter use, and electrical/mechanical components.
  • 2+ years renewable energy experience.
  • Deep competency in generation theory.
  • Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker standards and have competency in system software and industry standards.
  • 2-4 years of renewable energy experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical safety, arc flash standards, and NEC.
  • Proficiency with advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Advanced working knowledge of wind/ solar industry best practices and the ability to effectively coach, instruct, and train less experienced technicians.
  • Working knowledge of the NEC and OSHA regulations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of renewable energy experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, and lead site safety assessments.
  • Maintain company property and equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Accurately complete all administrative work, including daily maintenance logs, work orders, time tracking, and warranty/inventory documentation.
  • Attend all required safety and technical training.
  • Maintain the highest level of system integrity and support site budget control by seeking efficiencies.
  • Technician levels 2-5 participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for system monitoring and fault identification.
  • Performs preventative maintenance independently and conducts routine troubleshooting, repairs, and minor upgrades.
  • Responsible for independent preventative maintenance .
  • Participates in the 24-hour " On Call " rotation.
  • Performs unsupervised routine and corrective maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and leads teams on routine tasks.
  • Unsupervised execution of all corrective/preventative maintenance.
  • May train and oversee Techs 1 & 2.
  • Performs unsupervised advanced corrective and preventative maintenance and leads major repairs.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert (SME).
  • Trains and signs off on the competency of Techs 1-3.
  • Assists with overseeing site crews/contractors in manager absence.
