The Remote Sensing Technician (RST) primarily focuses on field data collection of remote sensing data. This role involves working with various technologies such as hydrography, UAS aerial surveying (drone), and other remote sensing equipment and projects. The RST will work as part of a team, assisting with survey planning, field data collection, and data processing for aerial, land, and hydrographic surveying. The position also involves remote aircraft operations, including planning, airspace clearance, flight operations, and collection of LiDAR, photogrammetry, and video data. The technician will be responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting surveying system hardware, computers, and software, as well as preparing field service reports and maintaining equipment logs. The role requires collecting hydrographic data using specialized software and working aboard various types of boats. The candidate is expected to develop skills and advance in growing technologies, and will also perform shop tasks such as repair, cleaning, and preparation of equipment.
