The Role: Reliability Engineering Business Intelligence Engineer This role supports Reliability and Forensic Engineering by increasing visibility into operational risk across Switchs data center infrastructure. You combine analytics, project delivery, and cross-functional coordination to detect early risk signals, support incident containment, and drive durable corrective actions across the fleet. The role requires strong analytical judgment and the ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, high-impact environments.

Requirements

• Strong analytical reasoning and ability to interpret operational data.
• Structured approach to ambiguous or rapidly evolving situations.
• Clear communication across executive, engineering, and operational audiences.
• Ability to drive cross-functional execution without direct reporting authority.
• Focus on risk reduction, customer impact avoidance, and disciplined follow-through.
• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 6 or more years of experience delivering complex infrastructure, analytics, or engineering programs.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives from problem identification through implementation.
• Experience building dashboards, data models, and workflow tracking tools.
• Strong ability to synthesize operational, engineering, and incident datasets into actionable insights.
• Experience in mission-critical or hyperscale data center environments preferred.
• Familiarity with reliability engineering, forensic investigations, or Problem Management practices preferred.
• Proficiency with data visualization, reporting, and workflow tools.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Data Center Incident Management at the onset of incidents to assess early risk signals and support interim containment actions.
• Translate incomplete or evolving information into structured risk assessments that protect customer uptime.
• Build and maintain dashboards that provide real-time visibility into active incidents, corrective actions, and systemic risks.
• Lead cross-functional implementation of corrective and preventive actions generated through Problem Management and Forensic Engineering.
• Track solution deployment across sites and ensure actions are executed, verified, and formally closed.
• Develop analytical models and reporting mechanisms that identify recurring patterns and site-specific vulnerabilities across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure.
• Consolidate logs, telemetry, environmental data, and operational metrics to identify leading indicators of failure.
• Provide executive-level reporting on risk posture, trend analysis, and containment progress.
• Partner with Data Center Operations, Engineering, Controls, and vendors to support reliability-focused operational improvements.
• Promote consistent adoption of standards, dashboards, and risk visibility tools across the fleet.
