About The Position

Inside the Role Lead position to evaluate lifetime cost, risk, and reliability of aftermarket service products such as extended warranties for commercial class 6-8 trucks, diesel powertrains, and zero emission products. Strong analytical and technical abilities required. Must have experience with using data analytics to interpret large and complex sets of data to draw conclusions, make recommendations, and solve problems. Also involves building statistical forecasting models. Requires solid understanding of all components of the vehicle system, how they function, and how they can fail in order to capture such qualitative factors in forecasting models. What You Drive at DTNA Analyzes large quantities of data and develops reports on the overall performance of business segments; develops metrics to measure various characteristics of the business and create actionable business intelligence Combines a good level of understanding on how business operates with analytical ability to sift effectively through data available, overlaying all this with the technical competency to illustrate this analysis to senior level stakeholders and the wider business Models advanced methods of combining charts, maps, timelines and infographics into comprehensible dashboards; creates visualizations of complex relationships and big data sets in a user-friendly and easy-to-understand way to facilitate business decision making Develops, coordinates, and conducts technical reliability studies on engineering designs and product warranty to assess the likelihood that a product/process performs its intended function over the intended lifecycle Measures and analyzes the reliability of the design, materials, processes, cost, and final products of production Completes risk analysis studies of new designs and processes Undertakes testing and analysis on failures, proposing changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability Leads department or cross-functional programs of notable risk, resource requirements and/or complexity Uses sophisticated analytical thought to solve highly complex problems and identify innovate solutions Serves as a guide for others in area of expertise Acts as an advisor to management and key external stakeholders on broad ranging projects

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering, data science, statistics, applied mathematics, economics, or other STEM related degrees with 10+ years of related experience or advanced degree in these fields with 5+ years experience
  • Data analytics, modeling, and forecasting
  • Understanding of automotive component and system functionality and failure mechanisms
  • Strategy and logic for solving complex problems and interpreting relationships in the product and data
  • Strong leadership abilities to drive projects forward and get support across cross functional teams
  • Project management and strong organizational skills
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to break down complex information into concise way for upper management including OpCom, with recommendations and strategies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building models and forecasts of complex systems including life data system reliability models
  • Experience with Tableau, Alteryx, Python, R, Hana, and Snowflake
  • Experience with automotive warranty failure problem solving and statistical problem solving including advanced methods such as Shainin and Six Sigma
  • Experience leading others
