This role works closely with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Systems, Quality, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Customer Support teams to translate product requirements into meaningful reliability tests, analysis of results, identification of risks, and driving design and process improvements that enhance product robustness and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in reliability engineering, test engineering, product engineering, or system-level testing, preferably involving HMI, embedded electronics, or electro-mechanical products.
  • Proven experience designing and executing reliability and durability tests.
  • Strong knowledge of reliability testing methodologies, quality standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with EMC/EMI, product safety, and international regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to document, present, and communicate technical findings effectively.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with multiple concurrent priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in regulated or high-reliability industries such as medical devices, aerospace, industrial equipment, or defense.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools or software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Experience with environmental stress testing (thermal cycling, vibration, shock, humidity).
  • Knowledge of FMEA, HALT/HASS, and reliability growth techniques.
  • Exposure to automated test systems or custom test fixture development.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute reliability and durability test plans for HMI, embedded electronics, electromechanical assemblies, touch interfaces, displays, and wearable devices.
  • Conduct environmental, mechanical, electrical, and operational stress testing to evaluate product robustness.
  • Support compliance testing related to product safety and EMC/EMI in accordance with international standards (e.g., UL/IEC, FCC, CE).
  • Define test requirements aligned with customer, regulatory, and internal reliability objectives.
  • Analyze test data to identify failure trends, performance limits, and potential reliability risks.
  • Apply statistical analysis methods to interpret results and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Provide clear feedback and actionable recommendations to design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
  • Lead or support failure analysis and root-cause investigations using structured methodologies (5-Why, FMEA, fault-tree analysis).
  • Validate effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions through targeted re-testing.
  • Contribute to reliability growth and continuous improvement initiatives across NPI and Sustaining Engineering.
  • Assist in developing, refining, and maintaining reliability testing standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management to understand product requirements and risks.
  • Document test plans, procedures, results, and conclusions in clear, concise technical reports.
  • Support external labs, audits, certifications, and customer reliability inquiries.
  • Stay current with emerging reliability testing methods, tools, and industry standards.
  • Recommend improvements to test methodologies, fixtures, automation, and data-collection processes.
