Job Summary Iron Mountain is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented ROI (Release of Information) Specialist to join our Iron Mountain ROI team. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting and responding to requests for protected health information while ensuring 100% compliance with privacy regulations and Service Level Agreements. You will join a dedicated Release of Information Team focused on providing professional, accurate service to healthcare providers and their patients.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in customer service, records management, or a healthcare environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and the ability to interpret regulatory standards regarding the release of protected health information.
  • Proven ability in data entry and multitasking , with a high comfort level using various computer tracking applications and office technologies.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required

Nice To Haves

  • an Associate’s Degree or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process and fulfill complex requests for protected health information by locating records and reproducing them through scanning, faxing, or photocopying in strict accordance with legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with healthcare staff, patients, and legal requestors to provide routine updates, resolve inquiries, and maintain proactive customer relationships both on-site at facilities and within Record Centers.
  • Ensure total compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and state regulations by verifying requestor types and validating authorizations to prevent any inadvertent disclosure of sensitive data.
