The Rehab Clerical Aide supports the efficiency of Licensed Therapy Providers and ensures the smooth functioning of the rehabilitation department. This role involves direct patient contact activities under supervision, such as patient positioning, transfers, application of therapeutic modalities, and assisting with routine exercises and gait training. The aide is also responsible for improving therapist efficiency by initiating patient treatments and problem-solving. Key administrative duties include patient registration, scheduling, cashiering, admitting, and follow-up, as well as coordinating appointments with other departments or physician offices. The position requires performing reception and clerical tasks like answering phones, managing messages, greeting patients, handling billing, faxing, photocopying, assembling medical records, and processing mail. Additionally, the aide reviews therapy orders in the electronic medical records system, maintains department files, processes billing/reimbursement forms, completes insurance verifications and authorizations, and tracks reauthorizations. The role also involves monitoring the therapy environment to meet patient experience standards, ordering, stocking, and organizing therapy equipment and supplies, managing linens, troubleshooting minor office equipment problems, and cleaning/disinfecting gym/treatment areas and equipment according to established standards. Routine maintenance/safety checks and work order completion are also part of the responsibilities.
