SUMMARY The Regulatory Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring adherence to all regulatory requirements in a Can-making and can-filling manufacturing facility. This role requires expertise in compliance standards, including FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP, and other applicable food safety and environmental requirements. The manager will collaborate across departments to support a culture of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance while helping maintain effective and efficient operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., FDA, OSHA, EPA). Oversee internal audits and inspections and coordinate preparation for external audits, certifications, and regulatory reviews. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to regulatory compliance activities. Team Leadership: Train and mentor staff on regulatory requirements and compliance best practices. Collaborate with operations, quality, and safety teams to integrate compliance expectations into daily operations. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes and regulatory readiness. Develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans to address deficiencies identified during audits, inspections, or internal reviews. Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and programs that support regulatory compliance and industry standards. Ensure procedures remain current with evolving regulations and company practices. Regulatory Monitoring and Reporting: Stay informed of changes to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Communicate regulatory updates to leadership and recommend necessary operational or procedural adjustments. Incident Investigation and Resolution: Support investigations related to regulatory or compliance concerns and coordinate appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence Documentation and Record Management: Ensure regulatory records, audit documentation, and compliance reports are properly maintained, organized, and readily available for review by internal leadership or regulatory agencies. Food Safety Responsible and required to notify management about actual or potential food safety issues; and empowered to act to resolve food safety issues within their scope of work. Skills/ Knowledge: The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of FDA regulations, GMPs, HACCP principles, and regulatory compliance requirements within food and beverage manufacturing. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential for monitoring compliance, resolving issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively lead teams, collaborate across departments, and interact with regulatory agencies when necessary. Proficiency with documentation management, audit preparation, and regulatory reporting is important for maintaining accurate compliance records. The ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is critical. Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required. Experience with quality management systems, compliance tracking tools, and document management or project management software is preferred to support regulatory documentation, audit readiness, and reporting activities. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered. The position typically requires at least five (5) years of experience in sanitation, regulatory compliance, or quality assurance within food or beverage manufacturing. Leadership or management experience is preferred. Certifications such as HACCP, SQF, or comparable food safety certifications are highly desirable.
