About The Position

This position supports the GI/Hepatology and Medical Weight Loss clinics by performing front‑office registration functions and ensuring a smooth patient experience. The Registration Specialist plays a key role in check‑in, pre‑registration, and insurance verification while collaborating closely with clinical and administrative teams to support efficient clinic operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior customer service experience preferred
  • Relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding concepts; knowledge of ICD‑10 and CPT coding preferred
  • Ability to interpret insurance information; familiarity with clinical practices and medical terminology preferred
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and visitors
  • Check patients in accurately and efficiently
  • Complete pre‑registration prior to scheduled visits
  • Verify insurance coverage and work registration task queues
  • Facilitate patient flow from point of entry through destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
  • Obtain and verify demographic and financial information to ensure accurate records and optimal reimbursement
  • Schedule appointments and interview patients for appropriate medical information
  • Explain departmental and hospital charges, policies, and procedures
  • Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems and collect required payments
  • Answer incoming calls and assist with patient communication and scheduling inquiries
